I so want to buy my boyfirend a metal detector. We live in a rural are in iowa , lots of farm land, and he is sure there is treasure to be found. but i dont want to spend a fortune. any suggestions???

Nice article on balancing ground. I was wondering if you knew of a good metal detector that had a waterproof coil and also could be used to locate gold coins etc on the beach in Florida.

Micahel, the best advice that I can give you is start with an all around metal detector then as you learn more buy something more advanced. The biggest mistake that beginners make is buy an expensive complicated detector and have trouble using it. There is a lot to learn about metal detectors and metal detecting the best place to start is familiarizing your self with your metal detector. A good recovery probe in my opinion is also a must it pinpoints with accuracy I might add, try the DetectroPro Pistol Probe it’s the best I have seen out there.
